C.C.ly, pronounced like "Sicily", is an acronym that means "Cheap and Chic Lounge for Young people"

 

 

Location

The C.C.ly hostel is housed in a central building from the 19th century and it's one of the most elegant in the city. We are in a strategic point, it's only 5 minutes walking from the bus and the train station, and 10 minutes driving from the airport.

If you like walking it's the best place to stay, in fact in a few minutes you can reach the most important tourist destinations such as Piazza del Duomo, with the characterist "Elephant", built in lava stone. The Cathedral where inside there are the remains of Saint Agata, patron saint of the city. And again the famous fish market also know as "Pescheria", where you can buy typical sicilian products and where you can find tradition and folklore. From here in afew minutes you can reach the Ursino Castle, the summer residence of Frederick II of Swabia. Then you can reach Via Crociferi where you can admire the most beautilful churches in baroqur style. And from here you can go to the suggestive hill of Sain Giuliano and you arrive to Piazza Dante where it's situated the splandid Benedictins Monastery and the Basilica of Saint Nicola. Finally, coming back to Piazza del Duomo, you will see the ancient Greek-Roman Theatre which takes his name from the fact that the Romans built this work on the foundations of an ancient greek theatre.

Then the volcano Etna, that is the biggest one in Europe, dominates on the whole city. The name of Via Etnea, main street and shopping center, comes from this volcano in fact if you look up torwards, at the and of this street, you can also see it. Walking along Via Etnea  you arrive to Piazza Stesicoro with his magnificent Roman Anphiteatre, which you can admire only a small part because the other aprt is above the mdern buildings. Again here you can admire the statue of Vincenzo Bellini, the musician of Catania famous all over the world for his works, one of these "La Norma". The going even further to Via Etnea you arrive to Bellini Garden, recently renovated where inside you can find secular trees and larges meeting spaces.

All this it's amoung the suggestive baroque style that characterizes Catania.
